Hello, my name is Robert Pound. And I am a product technologist for Quest. In this video, I'll be discussing licensing in Toad Edge. So whether you're updating from the trial to a commercial version, or whether you're renewing your subscription, or what have you, if you need to install a new license into Toad Edge, there are several different ways to do it.
So I have Toad Edge currently open. And from here, I can drop down from My Account, assuming you're logged in, and you can choose licenses, and it will bring you to the page. And this is the traditional way that most folks are used to doing it. You can, coincidentally, also get to this page from coming to Help, and then the About page, which will bring you here. And then you just click on Licenses.
But in any event, currently, I have a trial version set to expire in the next couple of months. If I wanted to add a license, I could come here and choose Add License. And I would enter in my license number in my site message.
One of the other ways to do this is through your Toad World account. So if I switch over to the internet real quick-- and you can see I'm logged in. So to get to this page to your profile, you just click on your name, and it will open up your profile in Toad World. So here, you can see Account, and underneath it, Toad Licensing.
So if we click on this, you may be asked to log in again. But once you log in, you will get a page similar to this. And this will list all your subscriptions. So as we can see, I have the Toad Dev Ops tool kit, as well as Toad Edge for my subscription licensing. And I can also add licenses from here.
So let's say that I have inadvertently removed this license. So I'm going to go ahead and remove it real quick. So now, it's updated here. And if I go back to the tool, since it refreshes every time you log in, and you can also choose to refresh it, once I click Refresh, it'll say, aha, your license has expired. Would you like to enter in a new one or buy a license?
I'm going to go ahead and close this out. I could add it in here-- once I close this feedback. I could add it in here, or on the License page. So let me go ahead and add a new license here.
And I believe I already had it copied. I do. And we will enter in, Trial Version, and click Add. So now, I've updated it from the portal itself. So if I go back to the tool and click Refresh again, all is right with the world. Everything has been added back. And it opens up the Option page again.
