How to use the SQL Recall feature in Toad Edge

Hello, my name is Robert Pound and I am a product technologist for Quest. In this video, we will discuss SQL Recall in Toad Edge. When working with databases, it's nice to be able to recall statements that you've run in the past. In Toad Edge you can use the SQL Recall window to get that functionality. To view the SQL Recall window, you can come to views and choose SQL Recall. In the window itself you have a breakdown of all the SQL that you ran for the past 100 statements. You can organize it by date. If, for instance, you want to recall something that you ran recently, you can choose the date. You can also narrow it down by schema or the type of statement it is. For instance, select update, et cetera. And it's also broken out per connection. So if you're looking specifically in a connection, you can search all the statements that have been run for that given connection. To copy any of the statements, select the statement and then you can either highlight it and copy it, or you can double click on it and it will be inserted into whatever worksheet you're currently working on. You can expand and contract the entire list. You can copy from here as well. You can hide and unhide the pinned entry. So currently I have just two statements pinned. This allows me to come back to them at any time I choose. They will not drop off the list. If I want to pin more-- for instance, the one that I just ran-- let me go ahead and filter by date again and choose the right connection. I can pin this entry by choosing pin entry. And now when I filter the list I have the three that I'm interested in. I can also purge this list of any statements that I don't want to see. So I can delete all or just the one that's selected.
