[MUSIC PLAYING] This video will provide a brief introduction into the new angular UI in Foglight.
First is a newly redesigned login screen. For organizations that have more than one Foglight server, you now immediately see the Foglight server identifier.
After logging in, the user will see the updated welcome area with a new search tool. Here you can search for any target that Foglight is currently monitoring. Simply start typing in the search bar to find and select the target, then see its overview.
Notice that Foglight 6.1 also has improved navigation on the left side. The navigation area can be resized, pinned or unpinned, and you can even search for navigation items and edit their visibility. In the new navigation, you can also bookmark items for quick access later.
The updated navigation now features an item for all the alarm features, both old and new. In this version, alarm notification management is now integrated with the alarm template.
Let's look at notification management. This allows you to create notification channels for different groups of users such as DBAs, DevOps, and management, who might need different types of alerts. Here you can create a new channel, define the recipients, and associate it to an alarm template.
The combination of alarm templates and notification channels means that you can have very fine-grained control of which groups or individuals receive notifications across your entire monitored environment.
